Divorce Mediation in Las Vegas
One Neutral Mediator, One Agreement
Settle your divorce and parenting plan together, without paying two lawyers to fight it out in court.
What Is Divorce Mediation?
Divorce mediation is a way to settle your divorce without going to court. Instead of each of you hiring a lawyer to argue your side, you both meet with one neutral mediator who helps you talk through every decision, from property and finances to parenting time and support.
What is the end result?
When you’re done, you walk away with a written agreement that covers everything you decided together. From there, you each take it to your own attorney to review and finalize the divorce.
The mediator doesn’t take sides or make decisions for you. You and your spouse stay in control of the outcome, and because you built the agreement together, it’s more likely to hold up long after the divorce is final.
Mediation vs. Hiring Two Lawyers
Most people facing a divorce assume they need to hire a lawyer and get ready for a fight. Mediation gives you another way through.
| Mediation | Hiring Two Lawyers | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | One mediator, shared by both of you | Two retainers and two hourly bills |
| Time to resolution | Moves at your pace, usually much faster | Often many months, longer if it goes to court |
| Professionals you pay for | One neutral mediator | Two attorneys, plus court costs |
| Who controls the outcome | You and your spouse | Your lawyers, or a judge |
| Level of conflict | Open dialogue and working together | Each side argues its own case |

Cortney has resolved more than 500 cases with a 94% closure rate. Before focusing on dispute resolution, she spent over a decade on the litigation and trial team at Chapman Law Firm, so she knows what a case looks like when it goes to court, and what it costs to get there. Her practical, down-to-earth approach helps couples reach agreements that work today and hold up down the road.
Cortney is available for mediations throughout the United States.
What It Costs
Cost is one of the biggest reasons couples choose mediation. Instead of two attorneys billing by the hour, you share one mediator. And since mediation is generally much faster than litigation, it usually costs far less than a contested divorce.
How Billing Works
Mediation is billed at an hourly rate of [$ per hour] and may require a retainer of [$ amount]. Your time is billed against the retainer, and each month you’ll get a bill showing exactly where that time went.
What’s Included
Mediation sessions, prep time, calls and emails, drafting your Settlement Agreement or Term Sheet, and coordinating with your attorneys or other professionals when needed.
